There are many parents out there who are concerned about the education of their children. They are unsure what they are being taught and what their kids are learning.

It Encourages Child Led Learning

Perhaps the biggest reason for some parents choosing homeschooling, child led learning is a great way to educate children. Not only does it keep their attention but they also enjoy it.

It Is Flexible

You don’t need to keep to strict set hours for homeschooling as long as you are getting the daily amount in. You can educate just in the mornings or just in the afternoons if you so wish.

You can also visit museums or other educational places as part of the homeschooling process and they will be a lot quieter than school holidays.

No School Run

The school run is the bane of every parent’s life but you don’t have to worry about it. School traffic can be awful! The time spent doing the school run – from getting there and back and waiting around for your child to come out – could be put to better use.

You Set The Timetable

Whilst homeschooling, you will have to do certain subjects and you will also have to follow a curriculum if you are looking to put your child through exams.

However you can create your own timetable around the subjects and this is one of the best benefits of homeschooling. You can also teach them skills that schools don’t teach them.

There Is Plenty Of Support

Some people look down on homeschooling and think it can be quite lonely but there is a great support network out there for homeschooling parents.

There are brilliant online groups which offer advice and there are face to face groups in many areas that you can join in with.

One To One Learning

Some kids learn best in a group environment, others learn better when working one to one. When you are working one to one, you can get the work done quickly and properly and this can free up time for you to do other stuff.

It Boosts Confidence

As mentioned above, some kids benefit best from one to one learning and homeschooling can really be good for boosting confidence. You can structure their learning to help them gain confidence in the subjects they are less sure of.

You Don’t Have To Do It Forever

There are plenty of benefits of homeschooling but it is important to remember it doesn’t have to be forever. Some parents and children continue homeschooling throughout, others choose to only do it through primary school. It is important to choose the education journey that works best for you and your children.
